Solid Waste Alternatives Study Information Session
The Board of Public Works is hosting two public informational meetings on the Solid Waste Management Alternatives Study.
The first meeting is on Monday August 17th at 7 p.m. at the JFK Community Room. This meeting has not been reported on very well, which has us considering transparency in government and what the goal of this meeting really is for the BPW . Is this the best way to inform the public about so serious of an issue? Apparently, they want this to just be a presentation of the study by Stantec and HDR. This will then be televised on Community Access for several weeks. They are trying to frame the debate on this issue. There will be time for public comment. We encourage everyone to attend this meeting and ASK QUESTIONS and VOICE CONCERNS.
The bext meeting will be held on Monday September 14 at 7 p.m. at the JFK Community Room. This meeting will include a briefer presentation on the Alternatives Study by Stantec and HDR and apparently include more time for the public to ask questions. We believe that there should also be some representative/expert who can offer a differing viewpoint on the Alternatives Study rather than just the company who was paid by the City to develop this study.
Mark the dates and try to be at the meetings.
We need to have our voices, questions and concerns heard!
